In Nigeria, and specifically in Dutse Local Government, Jigawa State, the rise of misinformation and disinformation has significantly impacted public opinion and governance. Print media, with its established norms of journalistic integrity and fact-checking, plays a vital role in combating fake news by providing verified information and fostering media literacy (Usman & Salihu, 2023).
